These courses are not designed to replace formal mandatory training, but as a supplement and refresher.

Some of these course are legal requirements to meet key HSE, OFSTED or local authority requirements, for example you must have someone who has studied the full 12 hour paediatric first aid course on your premiss at all times. 

Our working Safely with Children's Course is split in to 3 levels depending on the responsibly of the working with children.

Level 1 - Working Safely with Children

The level 1 is designed to for people who support children rather than leading activities. These could be  Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, Play Assistants or those work in other informal children's settings. 

6 hours (1 Day)

The course takes place over six hours on a single day and will include both theory and practical sessions. Paediatric first aid certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment. There is no final examination. Those delegates who complete the course will be deemed to have reached the required standard and will be awarded an Aid Training certificate valid for three years, after which time you will need to renew your certification. Course outline The required syllabus: Be able to assess an emergency situation and prioritise what action to take Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and breathing normally Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally Help a baby or child who is having a seizure Help a baby or child who is choking Help a baby or child who is bleeding Help a baby or child who is suffering from shock caused by severe blood loss (hypovolemic shock) Additional elements covered: Help a baby or child who is suffering from anaphylactic shock Help a baby or child who has had an electric shock Help a baby or child with head, neck or back injuries Help a baby or child having: a diabetic emergency; an asthma attack; an allergic reaction

4 Hours (1/2 Day)

Safeguarding is how we can protect children, young people and vulnerable adults from abuse or neglect by the actions, or lack of actions, of another person. In order to safeguard and protect persons from abuse or neglect, we need to learn how to identify vulnerable individuals and take necessary steps to stop abuse and neglect. This qualification is suitable for all persons and will provide an understanding of safeguarding which can be used in a workplace, activity group or any instance where a person comes into contact with children or adults at risk. The qualification provides learners with the knowledge to identify a safeguarding concern, record a disclosure and report to the appropriate person. Syllabus A range of Safeguarding related subjects are covered including: Safeguarding legislation and guidance Roles and responsibilities Abuse and neglect Identifying concerns and disclosure Making judgements Reporting safeguarding concerns

Level 1 Awareness of Safeguarding

Emergency Paediatric First Aid

4 Hours (1/2 Day)

Anyone can be affected by a mental health condition either themselves or a family member, friend or colleague. This awareness course is suitable for everyone as it provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a suspected mental health condition and the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost a person towards professional help. All members of the public can benefit from this course and it is a great stepping stone into First Aid for Mental Health. Syllabus A range of subjects are covered including: What is First Aid for Mental Health? Identifying mental health conditions Providing advice and starting a conversation

2 Days    - Cost £130 Each or Group booking £1300 for 12

Level 2 - Working Safely with Children

The level 2 is designed to for people who leading activities and have operational responsibility to the children in their care.. These could be Teachers, Scouting Masters, Supervisors, Room Leaders or those who supervisor others informal children's settings. 

12 hours (2 Day)

This course is in line with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and meets the needs of Ofsted. It is suitable for Childminders, Nursery and School Staff (dealing with Foundation Stage) and anybody who deals with children and wants a more in-depth course. This two-day (12 hour) course is delivered at your venue, by a paediatric specialist and includes both theory and practical sessions. Course outline The required EYFS syllabus:- Be able to assess an emergency situation and prioritise what action to take Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and breathing normally Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally Help a baby or child who is having a seizureHelp a baby or child who is choking Help a baby or child who is bleeding Help a baby or child who is suffering from shock caused by severe blood loss (hypovolemic shock) Help a baby or child who is suffering from anaphylactic shock Help a baby or child who has had an electric shock Help a baby or child who has burns or scalds Help a baby or child who has a suspected fracture Help a baby or child with head, neck or back injuries Help a baby or child who is suspected of being poisoned Help a baby or child with a foreign body in eyes, ears or nose Help a baby or child with an eye injury Help a baby or child with a bite or sting Help a baby or child who is suffering from the effects of extreme heat or cold Help a baby or child having: a diabetic emergency; an asthma attack; an allergic reaction; meningitis; and/or febrile convulsions Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider (including appropriate contents of a first aid box and the need for recording accidents and incidents)

Level 1 Awareness of Safeguarding

Paediatric First Aid

6 Hours (1 Day)

This course is suitable for anyone who actively connects with children such as parents, carers, teachers, youth group leaders and young adults. The qualification has been designed with children and young people in mind covering areas such as depression, self-harm, eating disorders and bullying and will provide the knowledge and skills to identify a potential mental health condition, start a conversation, and provide support and guidance to professional help. Learners will not diagnose or treat mental health conditions as this can only be carried out by healthcare professionals but will gain the knowledge to identify when a person may have a condition and know where they can go to get help. Identifying mental health conditions Stress Mental health conditions Drugs and alcohol First aid action plan for mental health

Level 2 First Aid for Youth Mental Health

3 Days    - Cost £250 Each or Group booking £2500 for 12

Level 3 - Working Safely with Children

The level 3 is designed to for people who have full legal and statuary responsibly for the young people on the premise. These will be managers and will be strategical in control of the site. For example Indoor play area managers and owners, nursery managers, head teachers or those who manager or own in other informal children's settings. 

(3 Day)

This course is suitable for those who need to be First Aiders in the Workplace in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. This course can be adapted to suit a particular audience, for example, clerical or engineering staff. The First Aid at Work course is run over three days and includes both theory and practical sessions. By arrangement the course can be run on non-consecutive days, for example - one day a week over three weeks. This course is suitable for those who need to be First Aiders in the Workplace in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. This course can be adapted to suit a particular audience, for example, clerical or engineering staff. The First Aid at Work course is run over three days and includes both theory and practical sessions. By arrangement the course can be run on non-consecutive days, for example - one day a week over three weeks.

6 Hours (1 Day)

Safeguarding is how we can protect children, young people and vulnerable adults from abuse or neglect by the actions, or lack of actions, of another person. In order to safeguard and protect persons from abuse or neglect we need to learn how to identify vulnerable individuals and take necessary steps to stop abuse and neglect. Everyone has the right to be safe and live without the fear of abuse, neglect or exploitation and this safeguarding course aims to teach you how to recognise the signs of abuse and neglect and what actions you can take to stop this from happening and occurring again in the future. Abuse, neglect and exploitation can occur anywhere and by anyone, quite often being a person of trust. This course is designed for all persons, no matter the field that they are directly involved in, to give them the tools and knowledge to make a difference to a vulnerable person’s life. It will also let the practitioner reporting the abuse know how they can safeguard themselves in every day work, while seeking help and reporting the incident identified. Syllabus A range of subjects are covered including: Safeguarding legislation and guidance Indictors of abuse or neglect Making judgements Communication Roles and responsibilities Sharing of information Dealing with and reporting of allegations and complaints Assessment and marking

Level 3 Principles of Safeguarding

First Aid at Work

4 Hours (1/2 Day)

Anyone can be affected by a mental health condition either themselves or a family member, friend or colleague. This course builds on the Level 2/5 Award in First Aid for Mental Health and covers a wider range of mental health conditions and goes into detail on the range of therapy and professional support that a person may be given by professional bodies during treatment for a mental health condition. The course is suitable for all persons within a workplace but is aimed at those who hold a supervisory/managerial level position and who have responsibility for implementing a positive mental health culture and responsibility for First Aid for Mental Health within an organisation. Syllabus A range of subjects are covered including: What is First Aid for Mental Health? Identifying mental health conditions Providing advice and starting a conversation Drugs and alcohol First Aid for Mental Health action plan First Aid for Mental Health in the workplace A large range of Mental Health conditions covered in detail

Level 3 - Supervising First Aid for Mental Health
